The conference meetings will be held at the El Tropicano Hotel in San Antonio, Texas on October 16th and 17th, 2009. CDS has reserved a block of rooms at the El Tropicano. These rooms are held until September 22, 2009 at the conference rate.
All the rooms at the El Tropicano have been reserved. If you don't have a confirmed reservation at the El Tropicano Hotel and still need a place to stay, please call the Menger Hotel and identify yourself as a Cognitive Development Society attendee. The phone number is 1-800-345-9285 or 1-210-223-4361. They will be offering the rate of $129/night for the nights of Oct. 15, 16, and 17 to our attendees. The Menger Hotel is located on the Alamo Plaza, about 1/2 mile away from the El Tropicano. It is easily walkable, and there is a "blue line" trolley which can also be taken from the Alamo to the El Tropicano.
San Antonio is served by the San Antonio International Airport. The airport is about 15 minutes from downtown San Antonio and the Riverwalk area. A cab ride will cost about $25. There is also a shuttle company, SATRANS Airport Express, that will take you to the El Tropicano Hotel for $17 one-way/$30 round trip. Reservations may be made online at or by calling 210-281-9900. Stipends of up to $500 are available to encourage participation at the 2009 meeting of the Cognitive Development Society by faculty, postdocs, and students from under-represented minority groups and those with disabilities.
